About Dafa
- Falun Dafa (also called Falun Gong) is an advanced practice of self-cultivation based on the teachings of the Buddha School. Falun Dafa was founded by Mr. Li Hongzhi, the master of the practice. It is a discipline in which “assimilation to the highest qualities of the universe—Zhen, Shan, Ren (Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance)—is the foundation of practice. Practice is guided by these supreme qualities, and based on the very laws which underlie the development of the cosmos.”
  Master Li’s teachings are set forth in a number of texts, among which are included Falun Gong, Zhuan Falun, The Great Consummation Way of Falun Dafa, Essentials for Further Advancement, and Hong Yin. These and other works have been translated into thirty-eight languages, and are published and distributed worldwide.

- The ancients believed that, through disciplined spiritual practice, a person is capable of transcending ordinary human existence. They sought a higher state of being, free from the suffering and illusions of the ordinary world. Attaining this state required moral rectitude, letting go of earthly desires, and the use of meditation and other techniques to improve the mind and body. Many schools of true cultivation appeared, each offering a principled path to spiritual growth. These traditions were quietly passed down over the ages from masters to disciples. Falun Gong is one such practice and is now available to everyone.

- By the end of the 1990s, a hundred million people were practicing Falun Gong. Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), perceived the spiritual discipline's growing popularity as a threat to the CCP's atheistic ideology and on July 20, 1999, issued an order to ban the practice. Since then, thousands of practitioners have been confirmed to have died as a result of the persecution, and many more have been imprisoned, tortured, and even killed for organs.

- From hosting group exercises in parks to holding magnificent parades, Falun Dafa practitioners promote the values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance in their communities wherever they are. In addition to celebrating these universal values, practitioners also hold events to raise awareness of the persecution of Falun Dafa in China and encourage the public to take a stand against these unprecedented human rights atrocities.

- In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution—that is, ultimately being held accountable for one's own actions—is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The universe will reward behavior that is in harmony with this principle, while acts that go against this principle will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds are rewarded while evildoings will incur due retribution.
